About Solar Guide
Solar Guide is a lead generation service specifically designed for professional solar installation companies. It’s free to join and list your business and once your application has been approved you’ll have access to sales leads in your chosen locality. You can choose to buy or reject these as you wish. We don’t charge an ongoing subscription and there’s never any obligation to buy leads.
How It Works
Solar Guide promotes the services of your business in your locality, using search engines and related websites. The site is free of charge for homeowners to search for solar companies and to obtain quotes for a solar PV or solar thermal installation or service.
Once a homeowner has provided their details to Solar Guide we check your coverage area and the type of work (e.g. solar PV or solar thermal) and where appropriate we will email you to ask if you’d like their details. If you accept this offer we provide the details and ask for payment thereafter. Payment of invoice may be made by credit or debit card. If the details of a lead are invalid we do not expect payment if you advise us within specified timescales using the link shown to you at the lead screen.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
It’s free to register and list your business. We only charge a small referral fee for each lead that you choose to buy. Prices for leads vary depending on the the type of work and the timeframe. Before you accept a lead you will be advised how much it will cost, lead prices are on average £18+VAT for a new solar installation variable by region, work type etc.
Do you take any commission on a job I win?
No, you only pay for the lead, we do not ask for any further payments.
When do I pay?
If you have accepted a lead then an invoice is generated which you should pay within two working days. This time delay is intended to allow you to see that the homeowner’s details are valid rather than any other purpose.
How will I know when a new lead has come in?
We’ll send you an email and SMS (where activated for your mobile number). You’ll be provided with a description of the job and timeframe, and you then decide whether to purchase the homeowner’s details or not.
How many companies receive the lead?
We limit the number of companies who can download the homeowner’s details to a maximum of 3 so competition is not excessive. Some quotes will be exclusively for your company.
I cannot contact the homeowner after buying a lead, can I get a refund?
If you are unable to contact the homeowner by either phone or email please login and Reject the lead within 3 working days (the link is on top-right when viewing the lead). We will endeavour to make contact on your behalf, if we are unsuccessful we will apply a credit to your account. Our full refund policy can be found here
How many leads will I receive?
This varies significantly based on your geographical location and size of coverage area. We cannot guarantee a specific number of leads.
How can I receive SMS?
Text Messaging (SMS) can be turned on/off at the Leads screen when logged into the site if you put a mobile number on your listing. We do not charge for sending SMS.
